Touchdown: Switzerland

I've arrived in Zurich, Switzerland where I'm visiting my aunt Margaret and cousin Maggie for a few days. It's 3:54am here (excellent...) so I think it's safe to say that jet lag has set in. My flight from SFO was relatively uneventful. I was so excited that I was unable to sleep so I watched movies and talked at (not to!) the Italian PhD student sitting next to me.

I've started receiving facebook messages and friend requests from people on my program in Barcelona. I'm glad to see that the rest of the group is as excited as I am. I'm still not entirely sure what to expect, but as I've expressed multiple times (especially to the poor Italian student sitting next to me), I'm SO excited.

Yep. This was a pointless post. In a few days I'll have something of substance to report. I promise.

Hasta!

Getting ready

It still hasn't entirely set in that I'm leaving tonight. Obviously I don't have anything of substance to say yet, so I'll just leave you with a text I received from Stephani Ham last night:

"You are beginning a crazy adventure! Go big and remember lots because I want to hear all about it! One should say 'be safe' but I never followed that advice...Just come back in one piece and let spontaneity guide your decisions!"

Hasta.
